Almost all Rolls-Royce reviews focus on these elements first, which, yes, do make the cars from Goodwood feel special. But focusing on those features risks being a bit limiting. Well, this review is different.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m driving the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/news\/718723\/2025-rolls-royce-cullinan-debut\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22718723%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%222025-rolls-royce-cullinan-debut%22%7D\">Cullinan Series II<\/a>, an updated version of the brand&#8217;s first luxury SUV. Even better is the fact that this is the Black Badge model, which, for those who don&#8217;t know, is the name given to the brand\u2019s most daring vehicles. So if a standard Rolls-Royce is Dr. Jekyll, the Black Badge is his Mr. Hyde.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, don\u2019t expect too much cheekiness\u2014we&#8217;re still talking about a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motor1.com\/rolls-royce\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22rolls-royce%22%7D\">Rolls-Royce<\/a>. The Cullinan Series 2 commands respect, even amongst those who may not immediately recognize the brand. Although that might be difficult given the black Spirit of Ecstasy protruding from the hood. Nothing stops customers from ordering this SUV in crystal, gold, or any other ultra-expensive hue. And the black chrome extends everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>The new, low-swept headlights are more modern, but I preferred the shape of the lower air intakes how they were previously. The exhaust tips are new, as are the 23-inch wheels. But with the Black Badge, it&#8217;s not just about looks.<\/p>\n<p>The 6.75-liter V-12 here produces 600 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque, and it takes 4.2 seconds for this SUV to reach 60 miles per hour. Although there\u2019s no Sport mode, the eight-speed gearbox has a \u201cLow\u201d mode that increases the responsiveness.<\/p>\n<p>All-wheel drive and four-wheel steering ensure roadholding, yet with its light steering, shock absorbers soften the ride quality to perfection, electronically adjusting themselves with no hint of sportiness in the Cullinan Black Badge\u2019s driving dynamics. But one thing\u2019s clear: It\u2019s not designed to \u201cmake time.\u201d It\u2019s built to resist it.<\/p>\n<p>Perfection may be unattainable, but the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge gets close. But, as mentioned, it\u2019s not enough to just paint everything black: The performance is enhanced and the materials are more modern.<\/p>\n<p>With the Bespoke program, a further level of refinement is reached.
