A Las Vegas woman bought a truck, only to discover a feature you most likely have never seen before.

“I’m the first person in my bloodline to witness this,” one TikTok commenter said.

In a TikTok that’s generated over 58.7 million views as of this writing, Bre (@breannamnicole) reveals how the truck she bought has strange “aftermarket” flooring.

The “aftermarket” flooring turned out to be tile inside the truck.

“Bruh, what is this,” Bre captioned in the video.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, aftermarket refers to the selling of new parts for cars that have already been manufactured.

Typically, aftermarket parts are similar to the original and are an alternative replacement for original equipment manufacturer parts, usually at a cheaper price, Edmunds reports.

However, tile isn’t usually an aftermarket part used for car flooring. The tile spanned all over the truck’s floor and even accommodated the humps and grooves in the center.

While this is impressive carpentry, viewers were in disbelief seeing that the truck has tile floors instead of carpet.

“That car in a crash would be EXTREMELY dangerous,” one commenter shared.

“One car accident and all that gonna be deadly shrapnel,” a second added.

“I’m sure that car is heavy,” a third commented.

“One pothole and that’s all going to come apart,” another shared.

“Bro now you gotta mop the car,” another jokes.

It’s no secret that tile is heavy. According to Overland Ceramics, a piece of 12×12-inch porcelain tiles will weigh around 1.8 pounds. So, loading up the interior with tile all over will certainly increase the car’s weight.

Adding extra weight can cause the truck to be overloaded. When a car is overloaded, the vehicle is carrying more weight than its suspension and axles can safely support, Shook & Stone shares. This can lead to tire blowouts, brake failure, long stopping distances, unmanageable downhill speeds, and rollover accidents. Additionally, this extra weight causes a greater force of impact in a crash and increases the severity of injuries during crashes.

Handyman Connection reports that tile can break easily under pressure, leading to sharp edges that can cut or injure anyone nearby.

While having tile inside the truck can give off a unique aesthetic, the increased dangers shouldn’t be ignored.

One of the top comments mentioned vinyl flooring. “My dads truck has vinyl flooring,” it read.

“Replacing the carpet in your truck with a molded rubber vinyl flooring kit is the primary way to increase the functionality of your truck while simultaneously increasing its longevity,” Factory Interiors states.

According to Parterre Flooring, vinyl flooring is easier to clean, disinfect, maintain, and replace.

“Vinyl should be so much more popular. Everyone gets those expensive rubber floor mats and covers the carpet anyway so why even have it. Vinyl all the way,” one Reddit user shared.

“I don’t want to deal with muddy carpet,” another Reddit user added.

For anyone with carpet interiors, most drivers will get floor mats to cover the carpet. Car and Driver shares that floor mats add a protective layer against moisture to preserve the carpet’s condition. Going without any protection for the carpet is a risk, as wear and tear could cause depreciation and impact your vehicle’s resale value.

Whether you decide to keep the carpet or swap to vinyl, it’s important to preserve your vehicle’s flooring. Adding floor mats can help keep carpet clean from dirt and debris, while vinyl flooring adds easy cleaning maintenance. Just avoid tile because of the dangers of increased weight and the possibility of shrapnel during a crash.

Motor1 has contacted Manny via TikTok direct message.
