Ford has really emphasized performance with the seventh-generation Mustang, launching the new Dark Horse and GTD models. Now, the automaker wants to offer a performance option for cost-conscious enthusiasts—the 2026 Mustang EcoBoost RTR Package.

Upgrades from RTR make the Mustang a more capable drift machine. The package features the Brembo brakes from the GT Performance Package—six-piston front and four-piston rear—while Ford engineers borrowed the Dark Horse’s rear subframe and front and rear sway bars to stiffen things up.

It has “an optimized steering gear with increased travel,” as well as unique tunes for the stability control system and available MagneRide dampers, which are designed to offer “better performance while drifting.”

The Mustang’s Electronic Drift Brake is standard, as is the model’s Active-Valve Performance Exhaust, which Ford caps with quad exhaust tips.

Photos by: Ford

Ford doesn’t make any direct upgrades to the powertrain, with the stanard turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine still making 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. The RTR package does come with RTR’s anti-lag system, which Ford claims is based on technology from the GT race car.

The added performance goodies coincide with a visual glow-up. The package includes RTR’s illuminated nostrils, an RTR grille, the GT’s front fascia, the GT Performance Pack rear spoiler, and RTR badging. It also adds Tarnished Dark Anodized pony and mirror caps, along with Tarnished Dark Anodized graphics.

Ford will offer a Hyper Lime Exterior Package that replaces the black Brembo brake calipers with Hyper Lime ones. It’ll also add Hyper Lime accents to the dark anodized graphics.

Inside, the Hyper Lime theme continues with contrast stitching on the dash, center console, door pockets, and drift brake. Standard upholstery and accents are available at a no-cost option, but you’ll be reminded of the pack when you open the door or start the engine, with the display showing RTR-specific graphics.

One thing Ford doesn’t mention about the new package is its price. It’s available on the EcoBoost Mustang Fastback with the High Package and the EcoBoost Premium Fastback, which start at $36,510 and $38,340, respectively, for 2026.

Deliveries won’t begin until next summer, so we expect pricing information closer to the launch date.

The Ford Bronco Sport Looks Even Better With Bronze Source: Ford

Ford has really emphasized performance with the seventh-generation Mustang, launching the new Dark Horse and GTD models.
